There are different ways of asking this question. It’s all in the tone. Be prepared for some disappointment.
The asker could have meant to question your understanding of how the system should behave in the situation. Or they could be wondering why you think it should work at all?
In the first instance be wary of a follow on reply that basically says “That’s an edge case”. In the latter, expect to be told “You’re doing it all wrong”.
