The “Does anyone else know?” question helps you to think about how many people may be affected by a problem and how quickly you need to deal with it.
More often than not this is the sort of question a colleague asks when you’re in the process of discovering that you’ve broken something with a recent change and it’s now a bigger bug than it was in the first place. They’re probably going to suggest you revert the change before other people suffer the same problem.
